Spend the afternoon creating painted clay tiles with Ojai ceramic and fiber artist Fanny Penny. Fanny will discuss design concepts and demonstrate different surface design techniques like using wax resist, stencils, underglaze, and slip. You will be guided through the process of designing a concept, sketching the idea, choosing a color palette and technique, and making custom stencils. You will get two clay tiles to paint. Fanny will provide a variety of her custom made glazes in beautiful palettes - full of rich, saturated color. The tiles will be fired and ready for pick up one week after class (by December 22). If you need your tile shipped, just let us know! These clay tiles are works of art that can be displayed on a shelf, used as a trivet, or hung on a wall.
