06/03 • JUNE KAL: EVA CARDIGAN, Community Knitting Together, June (3-5 pm) Mondays$0.00
Hello sweet summer! This new little cardigan pattern from Cocoknits is fantastic! Especially when knit up in Swans Island Firefly Yarn, which feels soft, lightweight, and bouncy. It's just enough of a light layer to take the edge off when it's not really cold enough for a sweater, but covering your shoulders simply feels good. Here's what Cocoknits has to say about it:
Eva is a lightweight, cropped cardigan. It has a relaxed fit with slightly dropped shoulders and wide-bodied ease. The ribbed neckbands are worked simultaneously with the upper cardigan, then split off and finished separately to become front ties that can be knotted or left to hang. The sides are split from just under the armholes, giving the fabric movement and swing. Because you are working from the top down, you can easily add more length to the body and/or sleeves if desired. Just be sure to buy more yarn.
This sweater is worked using the Cocoknits Method, a commonsense system for knitting seamless, tailored sweaters from the top down. The Cocoknits Method is explained in detail in Cocoknits Sweater Workshop by Julie Weisenberger. All of the page numbers in this pattern refer to the pages in Cocoknits Sweater Workshop, where the techniques are explained in detail. Cocoknits Sweater Workshop is available for purchase at Cattywampus. If you're not ready to try the Cocoknits Method on your own, sign up for the COCOKNITS SWEATER WORKSHOP with Julie when she comes to Cattywampus on August 31.
There won't be any instruction with this project. It is just a fun gathering and group support while we forge ahead making the same thing. Meet ups will be every Monday afternoon from 3 to 5 pm. Come to them all or just when you can!
