We affectionately call this the Tammi Shawl at Cattywampus because it is hands down Tammi's most recommended project to anyone who comes into our shop looking for a knit project. The Solv Shawl is so simple, you almost don't believe it when you first look at the written pattern. A repetitive unit of 8 stitches creates the mesmerizing pattern and is easy to make bigger or smaller. It uses one of our favorite yarns, Luft by Woolfolk, which just makes the whole thing that much more of a dream to knit. Tammi likens the process of knitting it to being on a swing with it's rhythmic stitch pattern moving you back and forth, swaying unconsciously.
Required Materials
- 7 skeins Luft yarn by Woolfolk (or other bulky weight yarn)
- US 10 (6 mm) circular needles, 24 to 32-inch length (or size needed to get gauge)
- Solv Shawl pattern by Cecelia Campochiaro for Woolfolk
Gauge: 14.5 and 27 rows = 4 inches in stitch pattern, blocked
Skill level: Beginner
