We are crazy in love with this sweater! It has the most gorgeous construction and it is surprisingly easy and fast to knit. The combination of Isage Silk Mohair yarn and this chic pullover design result in a sweater that looks and feels super pro! If you're used to knitting bulky yarn or have never knit a sweater, do NOT be intimidated by this project. You can do it! And you will love it!! We promise! Just wait until you see the colors of yarn available... You're gonna want more than one of these! Speaking of multiples... this pattern has a mini version too!

We have created two workshops for the STOCKHOLM SWEATER. Most of the sweater is just basic knitting without a lot of fancy stitch work, which you can do on your own. The two interesting parts of the instructions are when joining the front and back shoulders so that they look totally seamless and when creating the collar, which Jody says is the best sweater collar she's ever seen! So go ahead and cast on to start knitting on your own, then join us for one or both of these workshops to get assistance with the seamless shoulder joining and collar. The first workshop is on March 2 and the second is on March 30. In order to get the most out of the workshop, we recommend that you cast on and knit to the underarms before coming to class. That first part is super easy.

The Stockholm Sweater is knit from the top down in stockinette stitch with two strands of Isage Silk Mohair yarn held together. You begin by working the top of the back flat, after which stitches are picked up along the cast on edge for the shoulders. Each shoulder is knit separately and shaped using short rows, so they slope neatly. The front and back of the sweater are joined under the armholes, thereafter the body is knit in the round. For the sleeves, stitches are picked up along the arm holes, and then knit in the round to the cuff on DPNs or a circular needle using Magic Loop. Finally stitches are picked up along the neck opening, and a rib collar is knit, folded over, and sewn down on the wrong side. The Stockholm sweater requires no other finishing than sewing down the neckband.
