We love these classic drawstring bags! They are perfect as reusable, long lasting gift bags. We made ours using scraps of leftover fabric in our stash, which you are totally welcome to use. Or get some of your favorite material, if you have something specific in mind. We will provide the pattern for 3 different size bags. You should be able to make quite a few in class. 

• following a pattern
• using a rotary cutter
• creating a drawstring

• sewing machine (bring your own or rent one of ours for $10)
• 1/4 - 1/2 yard woven fabric per bag (or use fabric from our scraps stash) 
• 1-3 yards trim per bag for drawstring
• matching thread
• bobbin

TIME • 3 hours

PREREQUISITE • SEWING 101 or equivalent skills (familiarity with basic sewing machine functions)

TEACHER • Denise Thomas is the ultimate home sewer and crafty lady. She's been teaching kids and adults to sew for decades and isn't showing any signs of slowing down. Denise was the home economics teacher in Ojai before the program was sadly eliminated from the school district. Take a class with Denise and you'll come away happy, for sure!

Classes and workshops can be refunded if the event is more than 5 days from the date of the refund request. Classes may be canceled within 2 days of the event if there are not enough registrations, in which case a full refund would be provided.
