KAME COAT • Advanced Knit Class, August 5, 19 & September 9 (11-1 pm) Sundays$75.00
A classic raglan design is made modern with garter stitch in bold and cozy Woolfolk Hygge super bulky yarn, a luxurious blend of super merino, super baby alpaca, and silk. Stockinette panels delineate and lend structure to this seamless garter coat; it’s timeless style can be worn with anything from jeans to dresses.
Cardigan body is knit in one piece from the bottom up. Sleeves are knit from the bottom up in the round. After joining body and sleeves together, the yoke is worked seamlessly to the neck with raglan shaping. Short row shaping is used throughout the pattern to compensate for the differing row gauges of garter and stockinette stitch. The pattern is written to use yarn over short rows, but you can substitute the wrap and turn or Japanese methods if preferred. The German method is not recommended for this design.
This is an advanced pattern requiring the knitter to work fairly complex short rows and shaping at the same time.
