This class is for kids ages 8-13 years old who are interested in learning to sew. Kids will get to know the basic functions of a sewing machine and complete a lovely tote bag in the process. Kids are welcome to bring a machine or use one of ours. If you own a machine, we recommend learning on that one so that everything is really familiar for continued sewing at home. So dust off that sewing machine or get a new one and let's get them stitching! We will provide fabric, thread, and sewing tools. By the end of class, the kids will be ready to take any of our Open Sewing Studio class series.

• threading your machine
• adjusting tension
• sewing straight seams
• straight and zigzag stitches

• sewing machine (optional to bring your own or use ours)

• 2 hours

• Crafty desires, no actual skills needed yet!

TEACHER • Denise Thomas is the ultimate home sewer and crafty lady. She's been teaching kids and adults to sew for decades and isn't showing any signs of slowing down. Denise was the home economics teacher in Ojai before the program was sadly eliminated from the school district. Take a class with Denise and you'll come away happy, for sure!

If you're thinking of buying a new machine, we love Janome. We use the HD3000 in our sewing studio.

Classes and workshops can be refunded if the event is more than 5 days from the date of the refund request. Classes may be canceled within 2 days of the event if there are not enough registrations, in which case a full refund would be provided.
